Cuatro años al mando de todos los destacamentos policiales de la comuna cumplió el Teniente de Carabineros Marcelo González quien asume como jefe de la Tenencia de San Esteban donde en su remplazo asume el Subteniente Álvaro García Atton.
Visiblemente emocionado el Teniente González dijo que son sentimientos encontrados al momento de dejar la comuna , pues llegó muy joven como Subteniente y creció tanto en lo profesional y en lo familiar ocasión donde pudo cosechar muchas amistades y trabajar mancomunadamente con autoridades dirigentes y vecinos durante este tiempo junto a todo el personal.
“Quiero agradecer a la comunidad y sus autoridades por haberme acogido en esta hermosa comuna, siempre puse lo mejor de mi y no me cabe duda que mi sucesor hará lo mismo, gracias por el cariño el apoyo pues en los momentos complejos siempre Conté con todos para trabajar por la comuna y fiel a nuestro compromiso todos los Carabineros damos lo mejor aunque muchas veces es insuficiente pero de verdad doy gracias a Dios por la oportunidad de haber servido en esta comuna a la cual nunca olvidaré”.
