Una complicada situación, es la que afecta hoy a varios sectores de la comuna de Putaendo, luego de conocerse que aproximadamente mas de la mitad de las cámaras de vigilancia denominadas comunitarias y que fueron adquiridas a través de proyectos participativos por diferentes juntas de vecinos hoy están fuera de servicio donde lo mas grave seria el hecho que la empresa que instaló dichas cámaras no entregó los códigos de acceso para reparar y modernizar dichas cámaras.
De acuerdo a los antecedentes recopilados por nuestro medio, las cámaras se instalaron durante la parte final del mandato del ex Alcalde Guillermo Reyes ( QEPD) en diferentes puntos de la comuna, en una alianza participativa con la juntas de vecinos, sin embargo, la mayoría de las cámaras comenzaron a presentar problemas quedando al poco tiempo gran parte de ellas fuera de servicio, lo que se traduce en que hoy entre Siete y Nueve cámaras esten fuera de servicio, y según corroboraron desde el Municipio, la empresa que instaló y realizaban la mantención de las cámaras comunitarias, no ha entregado los códigos de acceso para repararlas, modernizarlas e ingresarlas al monitoreo de la central de cámaras del Municipio.

Como dato no menor, también se conoció que la empresa que ejecutó gran parte del proyecto de estas cámaras de seguridad, y que además realizaba las mantenciones y que por razones que no están claras, y que decidió no seguir prestando servicios al Municipio de Putaendo, seria la misma empresa a la cual el ex Administrador Municipal y Alcalde (S Fabian Muñoz Díaz, encomendó construcción de un túnel sanitizador, que finalmente la Administración del ex Alcalde Sergio Zamora, terminó pagando por un monto cercano a los $7.000.000 y que nunca se ocupó para los fines que se mandó a construir y que terminó siendo instalado en el estacionamiento del parque Municipal.
