El conductor del automóvil que terminó volcado en la ruta que une Putaendo con Cabildo, en el sector de la cuesta El Manzano, fue trasladado por otro conductor que pasaba por el lugar debido a la demora en pedir ayuda a los equipos de emergencias por la falta de señal telefónica existente en el lugar.
Fue a eso de las 07:25 horas aproximadamente cuando el vehículo se trasladaba desde Putaendo en dirección a Cabildo y al bajar la cuesta el Manzano por casas que no están claras pierde el control del móvil, traspasa el eje central de la calzada y termina volcado en el lugar.
El conductor de una camioneta que a los minutos pasaba por el lugar decidió trasladar en su vehículo al conductor herido el cual no fue identificado por Carabineros , mientras que otro automovilista se trasladaron hasta el sector Las Minillas para pedir ayuda al Samu, Bomberos y Carabineros, donde las dos ambulancias del Samu que se dirigian al lugar interceptaron al vehículo que trasportaba al herido en las inmediaciones del sector Tres Puentes.
Bomberos y Carabineros se trasladaron al lugar del accidente ante la eventualidad de encontrar más personas lesionadas lo que no ocurrió , mientras que el herido fue trasladado hasta el Hospital San Antonio de Putaendo.
