El Taller Municipal de Karate es financiado desde el Programa Comunal de Promoción de la Salud de Putaendo. Cesfam Valle de Los Libertadores 
Bastante contentos se encuentran las familias de Putaendo que pertenecen al Taller Municipal de Karate, por lo acontecido el pasado sábado 13 de abril, pues un representativo local participó de la “IX Versión del Torneo de Karate Open Shotokan: Copa Aniversario Llay Llay 2024”.
Fueron cinco niñas y niños de Putaendo quienes fueron parte de la instancia obteniendo importantes logros y sumando experiencias para próximas competiciones.
En el detalle, la delegación local obtuvo las siguientes posiciones en la conocida como “Ciudad del Viento – Viento”:
Belén Vera: Tercer Lugar en Kumité y en Kata
Santiago Pardo: Segundo lugar en Kumité y Kata.
Victoria Bulnes: Tercer lugar kumité y Kata.
María Ignacia Escobar: No obtuvo lugares, pero adquirió gran experiencia. 
Óscar Horacio Veas : Primer lugar en Kumité (Categoría siete a ocho años) y Tercer lugar en Kata.
De acuerdo a lo manifestado por el encargado del Taller Municipal de Karate, sensei Claudio Arriagada, “Fue un torneo extenso y de buen nivel. Participaron cerca de 200 competidores de Rancagua, Santiago, Los Andes, Calle Larga, Putaendo, Cabildo y Llay Llay”, explicó. 
El Taller Municipal de Karate espera seguir cosechando logros. En el mes de mayo una comitiva de Putaendo espera participar en un gran torneo en la comuna de San Joaquín, en la capital Santiago.
