En la comuna de Catemu concluyó la primera expedición científica organizada por la agrupación “Caminante Andino” y patrocinada por el Municipio de Putaendo en colaboración con los municipios de San Felipe y Catemu.
Interesante expedición de más de 40 km, que recorrió el Cordón del Tabaco, una ruta histórica utilizada por arrieros, comerciantes y baqueanos para conectar las comunas de Putaendo, San Felipe y Catemu e incluso la provincia de Petorca.
En la ocasión, el alcalde Mauricio Quiroz y el alcalde de Catemu, Rodrigo Díaz, recibieron a los expedicionarios a quienes felicitaron y agradecieron por el importante rol que cumplen este tipo expediciones para la protección y puesta en valor de elementos del patrimonio cultural y natural del Valle de Aconcagua.
Por este motivo, el alcalde de Putaendo, valoró y felicitó a este grupo de participantes y los instó a seguir este sendero y concretar futuras expediciones que permitan generar líneas base y/o recopilación de material fotográfico y audiovisual de flora, fauna y sitios arqueológicos de la Ruta el Tabaco y otras futuras rutas intercomunales.
