El sargento segundo Manuel Erick Cáceres Saavedra, que resultó gravemente herido tras una persecución, donde además murieron dos funcionarios en Calle Larga, prestó servicios en el reten de Carabineros en la localidad de Los Patos y en la Tenencia de Carabineros de Putaendo, donde forjó el cariño de sus pares y de la comunidad.

En el marco de una visita que realizó el general director de Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, al uniformado herido en un procedimiento que terminó con dos efectivos de la institución fallecidos en Calle Larga, desde el hospital institucional indicaron que el sargento segundo Manuel Erick Cáceres Saavedra se mantiene en condición grave y que las 48 y 72 horas serán clave para su evolución.
Al Hospital de Carabineros, emplazado en la comuna de Ñuñoa, fue trasladado el funcionario que resultó herido tras una persecución en Calle Larga, donde además murieron dos efectivos durante esta madrugada.
Ahí, el director de Sanidad de la institución, general (S) Cristian Matus, sostuvo que “la situación de Manuel es grave, tiene un politraumatismo, fracturas costales múltiples con contusión pulmonar, una laceración hepática con un hematoma subcapsular contenido”.
Em este sentido, destacó que su estado es “suficiente para estar en una unidad de cuidado intensivo, con evaluación permanente”.
