Un amplio despliegue comenzó a implementar la Seremi de Salud de Valparaíso, con miras a la prevención, en una de las festividades del año más complejas en términos sanitarios. En efecto, equipos de profesionales y técnicos ya se encuentran en terreno sensibilizando respecto a la precaución y al mismo tiempo fiscalizando para que se cumpla con las condiciones mínimas de higiene y seguridad.
El lanzamiento oficial de esta verdadera campaña se realizó la mañana de este lunes 2 de septiembre en el “Liceo Coeducacional La Igualdad” de Valparaíso. En ese lugar niños de tercero básico escucharon con especial atención la charla impartida por el Seremi Francisco Álvarez y la jefa de oficina territorial, la médico veterinario María Angélica Trincado.
“Como Seremi de Salud no nos preocupamos, nos ocupamos para evitar el uso de hilo curado, el que se constituye en una verdadera arma mortal, trayendo consigo graves lesiones, especialmente a niños, adolescentes y jóvenes, pudiendo llevarlos incluso a la muerte”.
Álvarez manifestó que, durante los últimos años, el promedio de personas afectadas por cortes ligados a este tipo de hilos es de una veintena, cifra que en un 80 por ciento se concentra el mes de septiembre. Bajo el mismo contexto agregó que también en un 80 por ciento, los accidentes se producen en plena vía pública.
Cabe recordar que la ley 20.700 sanciona a aquellas personas o locales que comercializan, acopian y fabrican hilo curado.
MÁS DE MIL FISCALIZACIONES PARA SEPTIEMBRE 2019
La autoridad sanitaria realizó durante el mes de septiembre de 2018 mil 33 fiscalizaciones, de ellas 50 derivaron en sumarios sanitarios, 3 significaron locales con prohibición de funcionamiento, 21 con infracciones a la ley de tabaco y más de 300 kilos de carne decomisadas. Según el Seremi de Salud, Francisco Álvarez, el trabajo en terreno, estas fiestas patrias se intensificará.
“Estamos empeñados en realizar más de mil fiscalizaciones este año, porque nuestra intención permanente es velar por la salud de las personas, chequeando el cumplimiento de las condiciones de higiene y seguridad de los locales, con el objetivo de que puedan pasar unas fiestas patrias seguras sanitariamente hablando.” Finalizó diciendo la autoridad regional de salud.
