La elevada cifra de casos activos en la región de Valparaíso, con 733 en las últimas horas, es sólo uno de los indicadores que han derivado en que 23 de las comunas de la zona se mantengan actualmente en fase 1 del Plan Paso a Paso, cuarentena total.
Cifra que según el último reporte llegó a los 4.679 activos a la enfermedad, pero que en el Informe Epidemiológico N° 108 supera los 6.200.
El seremi de Salud, Georg Hubner, dijo que este número estaría concentrado en un 40% en las comunas de Valparaíso y Viña del Mar.
Otro de los factores que mantiene bajo alerta a la región capacidad de camas UCI, la que registró la mayor ocupación en lo que va de la pandemia, con 220 pacientes internados, lo que representa el 7,63% del total nacional.
La pediatra infectóloga y docente de la Universidad San Sebastián, Loreto Twele, señaló que hay una falta sensación de seguridad en la población lo que explicaría esta considerable alza en los números.
