Gran cantidad de personas llegaron esta mañana al corazón de nuestra comuna para la ceremonia de inauguración del proyecto llamado “Mejoramiento Sitio Histórico Pimiento Plaza Prat”.
Las autoridades y los concejales de Putaendo destacaron los objetivos de la actual administración municipal de seguir potenciando el Patrimonio Histórico de Putaendo.
La primera etapa de este proyecto tuvo financiamiento del Gobierno Regional y consistió en la remodelación del espacio público que resitúa al pimiento histórico, como un elemento central de la leyenda de José de San Martín y del proceso de la Independencia de Chile.
Al mismo tiempo, a través de 6 infografías, los transeúntes podrán conocer los hechos representativos de las distintas capas históricas que se superponen en el territorio comunal y que son parte de la memoria de un pueblo orgulloso de su pasado y su presente. Es decir, Putaendo el Primer Pueblo Libre de Chile.
La segunda etapa de este proyecto, será la instalación de una escultura ecuestre, que recordará que en ese lugar, el general José de San Martín ató su caballo, en aquel verano de 1817.
