En las dependencias de la que fuera la antigua parada del ferrocarril que unía Putaendo con San Felipe, ahora existe un acogedor lugar que pone en valor la historia y el patrimonio del sector de Las Coimas. Además cuenta con una nueva biblioteca para la localidad.
La actividad fue liderada por el alcalde Mauricio Quiroz y también contó con la presencia de la Seremi de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio de la Región de Valparaíso, Patricia Mix.
“En nuestra administración hemos decidido postular proyectos de infraestructura para potenciar la cultura a fondos regionales. En ese contexto, inauguramos estas obras en el Centro Cultural Estación Las Coimas. Próximamente esperamos contar con un salón multiuso para la Escuela de Música y una biblioteca para Putaendo”, explicó el alcalde Mauricio Quiroz.
Asimismo, asistieron los consejeros regionales Eduardo León e Iván Reyes, además de los concejales de Putaendo Francisco Casas y Marta Silva, junto con vecinas, vecinos y gente que aporta a la cultura y las artes en Putaendo.
Cabe mencionar que el Centro Cultural Estación Las Coimas es gestionado por la Agrupación Trama Rural. La entidad ya ha generado redes con distintas instituciones del sector, como juntas de vecinos y el Cecosf Estación Las Coimas.
El histórico lugar antes fue la Estación de Trenes del sector de Las Coimas y posteriormente una escuelita rural. 
El proyecto “Mejoramiento Centro Cultural Estación Las Coimas” tuvo una inversión de 30 millones de pesos a través del Fondo Regional de Inversión Local (FRIL) del Gobierno Regional.
Asimismo, la nueva de biblioteca fue implementada con el Fondo del Libro, convocatoria 2022, del Ministerio de Las Culturas.
