A partir del lunes 4 de enero se darán inicio a importantes obras de pavimentación y mejoramiento de la Avenida Alessandri y calle Juan Rozas. Por la importancia de las vías a intervenir y los impactos que se generarán en la circulación y transporte público y particular el municipio elaboró un completo plan de contingencia que entre otros aspectos contempla cortes de tránsito, implementación de bidireccionalidad de algunas calle como El Molino y Los Nogales como así mismo la eliminación temporal de estacionamientos en vías como calle Portales y calle San Martin.
Lo mas relevante es que a pesar de las dificultades que las obras puedan ocasionar se debe mantener el acceso a las viviendas particulares y a los recintos públicos como son el Hospital, el CESFAM, Carabineros, Gendarmería, Juzgado entre otros.
En tanto en los próximos días se determinará el lugar en que funcionará, de manera transitoria la feria libre de los días domingo.
A partir del lunes las empresas a cargo de las obras procederán a instalar señales de transito e implementos de seguridad que den inicio a sus faenas que en esta primera etapa se extenderán a lo menos por 45 días.
En el caso de las obras de mejoramiento de Avenida Alessandri se contempla la pavimentación de las calzadas sur y norte en el tramo que va desde calle san Martín a calle Sarmiento. Además se construirá una ciclovía, se intervendrán las veredas, se renovará el mobiliario urbano y la iluminación, entre otros aspectos
