Respecto a esta eventual decisión, Murillo dijo tener la “esperanza” de que no será así. Sin embargo, de venir un verano caluroso, “no cabe duda de que existe el peligro de que debamos racionar el agua”.
Sin ir más lejos, el alcalde de la comuna de Petorca, Ignacio Villalobos, ha pedido que se de urgencia en este territorio y se le catalogue como zona de catástrofe hídrica y agrícola.

El gobernador regional, Rodrigo Mundaca, dijo que más de 300 mil personas dependen de camiones aljibes, cifra que aseguró estaría creciendo.
En lo que respecta a este oficio, fue firmado también por los diputados Marcelo Díaz, Camila Rojas, Jorge Brito y Diego Ibáñez, junto con el senador Juan Ignacio Latorre.
