El campeonato nacional de atletismo realizado el Lunes en el estadio nacional de Santiago, trajo un enorme regalo para toda la comuna de Putaendo toda vez que el estudiante de primer año medio del Colegio Marie Poussepin, Héctor Segura Jimenez obtuviera el segundo lugar en el campeonato nacional de Atletismo Escolar.
Este destacado alumno y deportista a participado ya en varios campeonatos nacionales y siempre a estado entre los mejores destacando por su sacrificio, humildad y perseverancia en sus entrenamientos y el año 2017, tuvo su primera experiencia en el Torneo Regional de Atletismo, quedando entre los ocho mejores de la región en la disciplina de velocidad 100 metros planos y salto largo.
