La actividad contó con la presencia de más de 15 unidades de Bomberos de la provincia de San Felipe y Los Andes y más de 100 efectivos.

Superando todas las expectativas de los organizadores, mas de mil personas llegaron hasta el parque Municipal de la comuna, para participar de la primera versión de la “Expo Carros”, organizada por la Primera Compañía de Bomberos de Putaendo.
Desde las primeras horas del Sábado recién pasado, el parque municipal recibió las unidades de distintos cuerpos de Bomberos de las provincias de San Felipe y Los Andes, además de dos ambulancias del Samu Aconcagua, ocasión donde fue expuesto a los visitantes el material de trabajo de cada unidad junto a la posibilidad de conocer en detalle el trabajo y especialización de todos quienes participaron en la exposición incluidas las tres compañías del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Putaendo.
Con el transcurso de las horas fueron arribando familias donde los más contentos fueron los niños y niñas quienes pudieron por ejemplo tirar agua con las mangueras de Bomberos, usar sus cascos y chaquetas, desplazarse por cuerdas y hasta cortar parte de un vehículo y así experimentar como los Bomberos realizan su trabajo en las distintas emergencias que atienden a diario en todo el valle del Aconcagua.
Punto a parte merece la exposición de las unidades más antiguas de Bomberos de Putaendo, el carro Ford año 1.939 que después de más de 30 años fue reparado por el mecánico Arturo Vega, quien además dejó nuevamente operativo el carro Chevrolet, donde las dos unidades con el rugir de sus motores y sus clásicas sirenas hicieron derramar más de una lagrima a los antiguos Bomberos y a quienes los vieron en acción en sus años de gloria.
Cesar Olivares Vega, Capitán de la primera Compañía de Bomberos de Putaendo y uno de los organizadores, destacó como la iniciativa superó todas las expectativas donde durante toda la jornada fueron más de mil personas de distintas edades que llegaron hasta el parque municipal .“Estamos felices y orgullosos como primerinos, es un trabajo de toda la oficialidad y de nuestros Bomberos que se comprometieron con esta idea y del apoyo de nuestros pares que vinieron y se tomaron todo el tiempo para compartir con nuestros vecinos, al igual que los profesionales del Samu, no imaginamos nunca que esto resultaría tan hermoso, ver la felicidad de los niños no tiene palabras y creemos que esta actividad ojala podamos instaurarla de manera oficial con motivo del mes del Bombero como fue en esta ocasión”.
