Cumpliendo con el objetivo de optimizar su servicio y seguir modernizando la infraestructura existente, Esval puso en marcha una nueva red de aguas servidas en San Esteban, proyecto que tuvo una inversión de $1.300 millones y beneficiará a más de 3.500 hogares de la comuna.
“En los últimos días entró en operación este nuevo sistema, que nos permite garantizar la calidad y continuidad del servicio de recolección de las aguas servidas, además de brindar una mejor calidad de vida para miles de habitantes de San Esteban. Con esta obra, junto con renovar parte de nuestra infraestructura y dar mayor seguridad a la red de alcantarillado, estamos acompañando el crecimiento de la comuna y aportando a su desarrollo”, dijo el subgerente zonal de Esval, Gastón Placencio Peñaloza.
En tanto, el alcalde de San Esteban, René Mardones Valencia, señaló que “esta iniciativa responde al desarrollo demográfico de San Esteban, que es una comuna que ha estado creciendo bastante en el tiempo, y creo que es muy acertado el trabajo de Esval, porque así se refuerza la red de colectores, evitando su colapso. Por nuestra parte, ya estamos licitando un nuevo alcantarillado en la avenida Teodoro Zenteno por más de 1.500 millones de pesos, lo que beneficiará a cerca de 600 casas del sector”.
Las obras de Esval, iniciadas a fines del año pasado, consideraron la ampliación de cerca de 2 kilómetros de redes, contribuyendo a generar una mayor capacidad de traslado de las aguas servidas, y se ejecutaron principalmente en avenida Tocornal y un tramo de la ruta E-741 (Los Olmos).
Finalmente, Placencio destacó la coordinación realizada con la Ilustre Municipalidad de San Esteban, a través de su Dirección de Tránsito, y agradeció el apoyo de la autoridad, así como la comprensión de los vecinos mientras se desarrollaron los trabajos.
